After 44 years as the owner and instructor of Jane Kohl School of Dance (1977 to 2007) and Kohl Academy of Performing Arts (2007 to present) Jane has transitioned out of the business.
In 1977 she started her business in her garage on Warrenton Shores later moving the studio to 1428 Gunter Avenue. In 2007 she again moved her studio to a larger studio at 1910 Gunter Avenue where it is still located.
One of her fondest memories is taking 63 of the dancers and their families from the studio to New York to perform in “The Nutcracker” on Broadway.
Many of the students from the early years children and grand children dance at the studio today. Jane has been a inspiration to many to continue in the arts through her studio and The Whole Backstage Theater. Her contribution to the Arts in Marshall County is unsurpassed.
